The CCUFSA Shine Award

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Any team with a CCUFSA institutional membership is eligible for this award.

CRITERIA:

A team may qualify for the Shine Award if one or more of the following criteria are met:
  • Exceeds the expectations of a customer by providing exceptional service.
  • Demonstrates creativity in assisting customers to best meet their needs.
  • Creating opportunities or guidelines for improving service.
  • Developing service plan improvements in support of the mission/vision of food services or the campus.
  • Going the extra mile to accomplish a particularly demanding dining event.
  • Accomplishing a major challenge – a change, a target, a unique situation.
  • Maintaining a positive, progressive attitude in the face of difficulty.

SELECTION:

  • A nomination package must be completed and submitted within the deadline to the selection committee (see description of nomination below).
  • The selection committee, as appointed by the CCUFSA President, will determine the award recipient.
  • The selection committee will be chosen from institutions which do not have a nomination under consideration.
  • Awards will be presented at the institute by a designated CCUFSA Executive Member and will be acknowledged at the National Conference awards ceremony.
  • The awarded team will receive a plaque/framed certificate as well as a team gift (to be determined by the selection committee and nominator with a maximum value of $1,000).

DESCRIPTION OF NOMINATION:

  • Three copies of the nomination package must be submitted before the deadline.
  • Specific, detailed examples and data to support the nomination must be presented.
  • Format of the submission should include:
  • General description of the accomplishment
  • Explanation of what criteria (as listed above) has been met
  • Outline of the impact on the institutions’ food services
  • Outline the benefit to customers
  • Summary comments as to why this team should receive the award
  • Attachments should support the nomination and could include:  pictures, testimonials, financial results, thank you notes from customers, action plans, etc.

NOMINATION PROCESS:

The nomination process is currently closed.  Please check back in late winter 2010 to submit your nomination for the 2010 award.
